History

Jim Cavanaugh, the owner of Cavanaugh Cabinets, grew up New Jersey. As a teenager, he worked in constrution building houses on the Jersey shore. When he had completed high school, he attended the University of Viginia in Charlottesville, VA as a physics major. In 1980, he began Cavanaugh Cabinets as a small, local cabinet shop doing mostly residential work. Through the past 22 years, Cavanaugh Cabinets has grown from the small, local cabinet shop it originated as, to a wildly succesful, primarily commercial, architectural millwork business. Some of our jobs in the past few years include the press boxes at Scott Stadium and Lane Stadium, Yves Delorme (previously Palais Royal), and Capitol City Brewing Company, to name a few. It is still located in the same building it originated in, but everything from the equipment to the employees have changed, while we still maintain the same values as we did 22 years ago. Those values are Price, Quality, and Punctuality.
